Understanding Demandbase API Access and Licensing
Demandbase provides APIs to integrate account intelligence, manage data, automate workflows, and extend your Demandbase environment.
Some APIs are included with your Demandbase subscription, while others require a separate license or product entitlement. Public API documentation does not automatically grant access.
This article explains API licensing requirements and how to verify access before implementing an integration.
Evaluate a Demandbase API
To evaluate an API that requires separate licensing, contact your Demandbase Account Team to discuss licensing options, available trials, and usage limits.
Data Export API trials are available with an allowance of up to 100 MB of exported data within a rolling 24-hour period.
Demandbase API Access Overview
The following table summarizes Demandbase APIs, their licensing requirements, and access requirements. All APIs require valid authentication and appropriate permissions. Usage limits and data entitlements still apply.
Important:
- Included: No separate API license is required for eligible Demandbase customers.
- Licensed: You must have the applicable API license or approved trial.
- An MCP subscription provides access to supported data through MCP without separate B2B API or Data Export API licenses. Direct access to those REST APIs requires the corresponding entitlements.
| API | Description | Licensing | Access Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Credit Usage API | Monitor API credit consumption and usage. | Included | Requires appropriate permissions. Does not provide additional API credits. |
| Custom Sources API | Manage custom data sources used by Demandbase integrations. | Included | Requires appropriate permissions. |
| Data Import API | Import account, person, opportunity, and activity data into Demandbase. | Included | Requires appropriate permissions. |
| User Admin API | Automate user administration and management tasks. | Included | Requires administrative permissions. |
| B2B API | Access Demandbase third-party company and contact data for enrichment and prospecting. | Licensed | Requires a B2B API license. |
| Data Export API | Export your organization's first-party data from your Demandbase tenant for analytics and reporting. | Licensed | Requires a Data Export API license. Available data depends on licensed export collections. |
| Demandbase MCP | Connect AI assistants and applications to Demandbase data through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). | Licensed | Requires a MCP license. |
Understanding API Licensing and Entitlements
Your organization's subscription determines which data is available through an API. Having API access does not necessarily provide access to every available entity or field.
For example, Data Export API access is limited to your organization's licensed export collections and underlying data entitlements.
Verify Your Demandbase API Access
Before implementing an integration, verify that your organization has the required access.
- Review the licensing and access requirements in the Demandbase API Access Overview table.
- Contact your Demandbase administrator or Account Team to confirm your organization's API entitlement.
- Configure the credentials and authentication method required by the API.
- Review applicable API credits, data entitlements, and usage limits.
- Make a sample API request and verify that the response contains the expected data.
FAQs for API Access
