Troubleshoot Demandbase MCP and Understand Unsupported Requests
Troubleshoot Demandbase MCP
Use the following guidance to diagnose and resolve common Demandbase MCP issues:
| What you see | What to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| MCP is not visible or available | Tenant enablement and MCP Permission Set access. | Contact your Demandbase Account Team if tenant enablement is needed. |
| Data or tools are missing | Permission set and entitlement for the requested data. | For custom clients, use tools/list to confirm current tools and schemas. |
| Intent or Buying Group value cannot be resolved | The exact tenant-configured name. | Use Get Demandbase Reference Data, then retry with the exact value. |
| Wrong account scope | The assistant used global company search instead of internal accounts. | Say “in my Demandbase account database” or explicitly request global company discovery. |
| Net-new contact results look incomplete | Pagination and record availability. | Request the next page or increase the requested page size within the tool limit. |
| Credits are exhausted or need review | Current MCP credit balance and usage. | See MCP Credit Management for available and consumed credits. |
Unsupported Demandbase MCP Requests
Demandbase MCP does not currently support the following requests:
| Unsupported MCP Request | Alternative |
|---|---|
| Advertising Campaign data | None. |
| Person-level Intent | Use account-level Intent filters on Search Internal Account Database. |
| Filter companies by family tree or competitor relationships | Fetch the company, then review the returned family tree or competitor data. |
| Financial trend analytics (YoY, quarterly trends, CAGR) | None. |
| Write, create, update, delete, or enrich data | Make the change in Demandbase or your internal data sources, then re-query. |
| Person lists | Use bounded, filtered person searches. |
| Person-level engagement windows other than 7 days | Use account-level engagement filters where appropriate. |
